Charlie is credited for getting BMX going in his home state of New Jersey. As a pioneering track operator, Charlie would do the start, announce the race and score the finishes - all in one. And he still found time to race in between, securing himself a Mongoose sponsorship which would eventually land him in Southern California. Litsky worked throughout the bicycle industry with most of his years spent at Tioga. His colorful personality and knowledge of cycling provided the opportunity to commentate on some of the earliest BMX and mountain bike race coverage on TV. With his knack for promotion and talking, Charlie broke out on his own as a Sports Agent for such stars as John Tomac. In 1993, at the young age of 32, Charlie Litsky died of a heart attack, ironically while doing what he loved the most - racing bicycles.
