Sunday’s Championship

Today was JT’s day. He was very nervous in the morning and in the staging lanes with 6 riders getting ready to battle for the state points. But this incredible little man had a fire in his belly. In the first moto, Bam the gate dropped and the drag race was on, JT battled hard and went into the first corner 2 wide, coming out he was in 2nd place. In the 2nd straight JT poured on the power reeling in the rider ahead of him. In the 3rd straight rhythm section he powered into the 1st place, slamming the door on his opposition in the 3rd corner and running away with the Win in moto #1, advancing him directly to the main event.

The main event saw things heating up in the 6 Novice class but he was ready and said “Dad I got this!” and boy did he. BOOM the gate dropped and the drag race was on again. JT was behind by ½ a wheel length at the first obstacle. By the end of the first straight he was out in front and never looked back. Coming out of the first straight he had 5 bike lengths on the rest of the pack and never lifted. JT with a huge WIN. With more than 3 seconds ahead of the #2 rider.

This was Win #10 for JT. Welcome to the intermediate class!!! The win also secured his position as the #3 rider in the State for 6 year old boys. This was a heck of a Rookie year, one he will be proud of for the rest of his life.
