First 10 Weeks Coaching
"FIRST 10 WEEKS"
ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Welcome to Okeeheelee BMX. By joining USA BMX, you have taken the first step in becoming a part of the BMX family here at Okeeheelee, and around the world. You have brought your first bike to the best facility around. Okeeheelee BMX has been ranked as a Top Ten Track in the Country by USA BMX. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 we have been recognized as the #1 BMX track in Florida and the #1 track on the East coast (2013 & 2015)
Okeeheelee is world renowned for its amazing track surface, upkeep, attention to detail, rider support, and their unmatched ability to put the riders and families first. Keeping with our tradition of striving to offer the best, Okeeheelee BMX, in conjunction with USABMX, was integral in the development and design of the new rider program, referred to as the “First Ten Weeks” (F10W). The title of the program refers to the first ten sessions of information taught. We were the first track in the country to offer this program in 2013 now our program has become the nation standard for BMX Coaching.
Now is the time to get ahead of the rest at your new home, Okeeheelee BMX. This program will build confidence in your rider, as well as the parent, through skill building of the basic fundamentals and understanding of BMX on and off the track. The last thing we want is for your riders to become overwhelmed and feel unconfident in their ability. The first two sessions, titled “Introduction to BMX I and II”, will be offered FREE
to all new USA BMX members. The remaining 8 sessions will be sold in blocks of 4 sessions at $80 per block. You can purchase your sessions by seeing any Okeeheelee Board Member at the track or by contacting Okeeheelee's Head Coach, Mark Dew at CoachDept@Okeeheeleebmx.com.

For the safety of our children, all Coaching Candidates must:

- Be certified in Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR
- Pass a Background Check
- Take the USA BMX Certification Coarse that covers all aspects of BMX training from Apples (Nutrition) to Z (Finish Line)

Our pledge to you is there will be a USA BMX Certified Coach running every clinic taught at Okeeheelee BMX.
Meet the Coaches
Mark Dew- Head Coach
7 years ago, Mark started out just like every other new dad in the sport of BMX, trying to figure out the "secret" to make his children faster BMX racers. Mark's particular interest is in strength and conditioning. While his background is not in BMX racing, he was a collage athelete and competed in both motocross and supercross. He was a South Florida MX champion is his younger years. Since entering the sport, Mark applied what he knew from collage athletics and his amature motocross career to BMX training. In doing so he helped his son achieve three State Championships in the past 5 years. Mark is both a USA BMX Certified Coach as well as a Level 3 USA Cycling Certified BMX Coach. He wants to help your child achieve his or her goals as well. firstname.lastname@example.org
