For the Connecticut BMX scene, the Olsons - Don and Kathy- have played a vital part in its successful local program. They’ve played a HUGE role in their State race program, and they’ve sat on the board of the NBL, officiated or handled registration from the local to National level. Don and Cathy are prime examples of a BMX family that has completely dedicated their Lives to BMX - and in doing so, left HUGE impressions on multiple generations of BMX kids and their families.

Don and Kathy Olson have been involved at Bethel BMX in Connecticut since day one - 43 years ago. Don also served on NBL’s Board of Directors, was a part of NBL’s Competition Committee, was a familiar NBL official on the National circuit for decades, and was Connecticut State commissioner. Kathy, meanwhile, has been track clerk for Bethel BMX and worked at multiple NBL nationals in several capacities. Don and Kathy were also part of the Northeast Regional team.

After Don’s passing in 2023, their son Don stepped into his father’s role and the Olson family’s BMX tradition is carrying on with the next generation.
