The first stop of the 2013 Redline Cup Finals invades Fresno, CA this weekend as participants from all over the country battle for that prestigious yellow #1 RLC plate!

The 42 moto Friday night pre race went down without a hitch and there was an early indication that this weekend should bring some top-notch racing by not only the amateurs who are fighting for the championship but also the Pros who are preparing for their first to last stop for the 2013 USA BMX Pro Series.

Stay tuned all throughout the weekend for the latest images and updates from the first stop of the 2013 Redline Cup Championships!

SATURDAY:

One of the greatest things about the Redline Cup series is that riders of every caliber converge at one location to leave it all on the track for one weekend with the opportunity to attach the trademark yellow #1 plate to your bike and slip one the Redline Cup #1 Champion jacket that you will receive. One of the new additions for this year is allowing riders to race the open class and still receive a Redline Cup plate. So now there is no excuse not to come and get one of those awesome plates!

Day number one is officially in the books and the points are all locked in for tomorrows fight for the plates. Today was filled with plenty of disappointments but those brought on many more feelings of excitement as well.

With Fresno being one of the final stops on the Pro Series before the Grand Nationals next month, it brought in plenty of the big hitters that are still desperately trying to come within striking range of current points leader Sam Willoughby. Unfortunately for Mr. Willoughby, he was delivered a string of bad luck as a broken rear wheel, thrown chain and another fall in the third round kept him out of the main. That being said, it was open season for everyone else. The first round sent Connor Fields to the ground in the first turn and turn three claimed the bodies of Willers, Stair and Sharrah. However, The man who took the Answer holeshot and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Maris Strombergs kept it clean and finished with the lead. Another win in the second round and a sit pretty easy fourth in the final would give him the overall win for the day. The battle continues tomorrow...

There has been plenty of chatter about who will be in the final battle for the Women’s Pro cup and Alise Post had her hands full between Mariana Pajon and Dominique Daniels. The qualifiers had an intense battle between the three but a nasty wreck would leave Post out of the main. Round one of the main events saw Mariana Pajon and Dominique Daniels power through the pack but too low in turn two would leave Daniels on the ground as Pajon took the win. An odd occurrence happened in round two when spectators watched Daniels' bars turn in the gate and then watched her fall off balance. Daniels would not return and Pajon would go on to win the overall.

While Matt P. gets his model on in Mexico, Cristian Becerine and Javier Colombo once again battled it out for the top slot in the Vet Pro class. Javier seemed off of his game a little as Becerine took the overall without much push.

The A pro battle was off the chain as local hero Austin Hiatt had the spotlight on him. Along with Jared Garcia, Jeremy Rommel and a few other quick spinners, the results were all mixed up heading into the final round of the main event. Maybe the spotlight helped Austin out or maybe it was because he is ripping his home track since he laid down the law and took the overall win.

Check back in tomorrow for the final list of Redline Cup Champions complete with images!

SUNDAY:

Day two saw much of the same as far as the Pro classes are concerned. Pajon and Strombergs both fought hard and picked up wins in the AA and Womens pro classes again while a broken shoe kept hometown here AJ Hiatt off the podium and Becerine grabbed another Vet Pro win ahead of Colombo and Adam Treadwell.

The amateurs have worked extensively on becoming the next crop of Redline Cup Champions and day two was where they made their final pushes for the plate. Listed below are all of your 2013 Redline Cup West Champs. Now it is time to see if any of these newly crowned champions will make a trip to the East this weekend and work on geting ANOTHER RLC #1 plate and champions jacket.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us in Fresno for the weekend and USA BMX congratulates all of the new champions who have worked so hard to achieve this goal. See you in North Carolina!
