FRIDAY:

Smooth is an understatement! Trilogy Park BMX in Pottstown, Pennsylvania has one of the best racing surfaces around and the folks who made the trek out to the Quaker State Nationals were great with near perfect weather today. The track is in the 950-1000 foot range depending on your line selection and has some tight turns that you really have to carve to maintain your speed. In the 2nd round of 9 Inter tonight the two lead riders locked elbows and the outside rider got to visit the marigolds growing on the back of the turn.

We were quite surprised to see Woman Pro Shealen Reno in the house taking some hot laps today. For those who don’t know, she’s fresh off a silver medal performance in Rotterdam, Netherlands in the Jr. Women’s class. She was visiting her sponsor, Hyper Bicycles, headquarters right over the river in New Jersey. Word is that she’s planning on racing tomorrow in the A Pro Class. That’s going to be interesting for sure. Be sure to listen in to that live at www.usabmx.com/webcast!

As practice winded down we got the word that 77 motos had been posted and it was go time. The racing was an excellent prelude to the rest of the weekend and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Stay tuned to updates on our facebook and twitter pages and right here on usabmx.com
