The Real Life "RAD": LCQ Takes 1 to Trials

For the first time ever, one lucky rider who makes it thru LCQ qualifiers and wins the main, will get to join the "Super 7" for Saturday's much anticipated U.S. Olympic Trials. With fifteen of the fastest Ams, A-pros and AA's, who would be the "One To Go" ?

As announcer Mike Redman put it, all you had to do was "Win It, and you're In It." Dr.J-Rich, watching from the sidelines, described this as Rocky 1, where the longshot is given his big break - a chance to make it in the bigtime arena. Anticipation was high, and the field was pretty even - with not any single rider standing out amongst the other 15. This was anybody's race - and the winner would get their ticket to Saturday's U.S. Olympic Trials. 

Who would be the modern-day Cru Jones in this reality-version of "RAD" the movie? 

After three rounds of the 2-moto LCQ's, Speedco's Logan Collins and Minnesota favorite Elliott McGrath were looking like the top picks to make it to the Rio-replica track as the 8th man. But, there was just one more race to go; the 1-lapper main event. Even the "old guy" -- 31 year old Tyler Brown, for GT, was in the hunt, but wound up one point shy of making the final. 

HIgh atop the 3-story tall starting hill of the Beijing-track, the following eight men rolled in to the gate:
