2016 Silver Dollar Nationals (season opener) in Vegas was a great weekend of racing for me. I didn't get my last 2 wins as an Inter at Grands so I was determined to do it at South Point. Friday - I raced class & cruiser. In cruiser I got the win, and in class I had one of the most fun battles ever with Scott Johnson and ended up 2nd.

Sat - I won my open & class 1st round motos. In cruiser, I had to go to 2nd round but came out with the win making my first main in cruiser at a National. Open main - I grabbed the hole shot but Scott Johnson came in hot in turn 2 and blasted me to the top of the berm. He went down pretty hard and I was able to stay up but both feet un-clipped and I settled for 7th place. In cruiser, I learned that I need to be more aggressive but ended up 7th as well. In class I accomplished what I went to Vegas for. Getting the win, and being one more win away from the Expert class.

Sun - was a perfect day as far as open & class qualifiers. I did have to go to 2nd round in cruiser but got the win and made it to the main again. Open main - I pulled the hole shot and never looked back. Cruiser main - I got a great start going into the first turn in 2nd place, but Jason Simpson plowed his way through our pack and I un-clipped but stayed up. I ended up with a 6th place. Class main - I was in gate 8 in a full rack, so I knew I had to get the strong pull down the first straight. I snapped out and headed for that white line on the inside. Made it to the #1 spot in the first turn and rode a perfect lap, getting my final win as an intermediate and moving into the big boy class.

I was extremely thankful for another safe weekend of racing and blessed to be able to compete in this sport. I learned a lot and now have to step up my training game to mix it up with the Expert class. Thank you Lord for giving me this opportunity. Glory to God
