Greetings       Well I am ahead of my projections.   I had originally wanted to be back to racing in October 2018.  I accelerated that and started in July.  Now more of the story---

Last year, May 2017, I crashed and broke my left leg.  Fracture healed, but the ACL was damaged.  In March of 2018 I have ACL reconstruction.  Dr used my hamstring tendon to creat new ACL.  I was walking the same day after surgery.  I am now up to 18 pieces of metal holding my body together.  i then had a few months of rehab to do.  Come to find out, most 50+ year olds dont get ACL replacement, I must have been an above average case!

Rehab was 4 months and it went well.  Not a lot of pain or problems with rehab.

Now back to racing-- I have raced at the North SeaTac BMX track in the suburbs of Seattle.  The track is a city owned public track.  1400 ft slightly down hill, reminds me of the old Sky High BMX in Arvada Colo.  Operators are nice, people are ok, and race participation has been light as weel, at least for the two times I have raced.

I didnt make the main my first time out, but racing against teenage Intermediates and experts-- I didnt think i would.  Yesterday 8-16-18, different story--  A FULL GATE   8 riders!   But they were mostly 11-12 yo girls and one 41yo novice like me.  I still have a decent gate, (not strong but I can snap quicker than them lol) and I just had to get infront of the gaggle of other riders and miss all that chaos.  Sure enough there was a tangle of riders and one young girl crashed and cried and left the track in a makeshift sling-- I hope she is ok.  I finished 1st moto in first, 2nd and 3rd motos in second place after the 41yo, for an overall 2nd place.

I am proud to have ridden in a full gate and snapped out in front of the mess of kids.  A second place finish is good with me!!!!
