Happy New Year!
As I lookback I must say last season really presented it's challenges...It is now 40 years since I began racing BMX or being involved in the sport in some way, shape or form. It's time to look forward...

Well A few positives...

  • Pod Practice begins at Rum River BMX on January 4th. - 25 riders at a time The sessions have their restrictions, 1 hour each.
  • I'm on a new ride which I have yet to even test ride I got my hands on a 2021 Box Edition Meybo Cruiser. I have my concerns as far as the size but I will give it an honest run.
  • I still have my Vendetta and Rift bikes as back up and those two were the vehicle that spawned improvement in my riding at the end of the year. (Along with joining Box Components' Level Up Program)
  • Dryland Training has begun at Sanford POWER Center I am the only BMX racer they have this winter, and it feels nice to be able to focus on what I am doing, although they are considering a Strengthing and Conditioning camp for cycleists and want to focus on BMX.. One of my two trainers is a former BMX racer from Texas so that really helps the focus on what I am doing.

So far my focus has been getting back up to speed after being Idle since November. There have been a ton of disappointments, friends passing from COVID, But I have been blessed to get nothing more than a sinus Infection.

My schedule focus is a mix of Local, State, & National - without a financial sponsor it's next to impossible to travel and race more than a few big races, if that. I see myself enjoying the local scene more in 2021 than being forced to race at 8 different tracks in rotation.

May 2021 be your year... and... "Make Your Own Luck".
