Wow what a day yesterday at Akron BMX! It was the last race of the season, the Black Cat Chili Classic, and my first race on the main track as a 5 year old novice!

I've been practicing on the main track the last few weeks trying to get it down. I have made it around a few times without putting my foot down but Dad hasn't wanted me to race yet until I felt more comfortable. The other riders on the track make me nervous and I'm not good at standing up and pedaling yet.

During practice I made it around twice without putting my foot down and was feeling great! Dad asked if I wanted to race and I told him yes. I'm not sure I knew what he meant by race since we had already been on the track. I know he was excited for me. I was just excited for the trick or treat and costumes getting ready to start.

We warmed up next to the big bonfire the track started and headed back to the van to get ready for trick or treat. All of the costumes were so awesome! I think I had more candy from the track's trick or treat than I got from our neighborhood!

Then came the racing. I was moto # 10. There were 5 other riders in my class with a 1-2-2 transfer. The first race I took 4th place. I think one of the other racers crashed. 2nd moto I took 3rd and JUST missed the transfer to the main. 3rd moto I need 1st or 2nd to move on and just edged out another racer. I think he was just as tired as I was.... For the main I ended up taking 5th out of 5. My Dad was so proud of me!

I can't wait to get back onto a track again!
