Jan Kirk Carney's (2016) current controversy about obesity connects public heath and health policy.  His explanation of public health and health care plays an important part in my efforts to reduce this problem in my own community. Grasping the breadth and goal of formulating family or individual exercises, to keep each person engaged, is the key to reducing diabetes and other harmful diseases associated with obesity.(p.39) The purpose of background, evidence-based data is to reveal the avenue or pathway to corrections toward strategies for progress or better public health. The acceptance of obesity, is detailed in Carney's book which details how obesity is looked at as a sign of good prosperity or a cultural norm.  My Dad also subscribed to a cultural norm which was smoking cigarettes.  The subliminal action unknowingly received, although my father new of the harmful affects, still managed to reach me as a teenager.  Because of the influence he had on my life, I picked up cigarettes early in my life at the age of 16.  I feel obesity is "INDUCED" because of the individual choices we make as human beings. Evidence based data is used to "dissect root causes and barriers".  "Proposed strategies for progress" are positive steps toward reducing diseases like childhood diabetes. Shultz (2021) explanation of the American incentives for growing corn, soybeans and wheat are solutions which involve other Americans helping feed Americans and is another avenue for reducing disparities. (p.153) My action to involve children and family into bicycle riding fun will be my subliminal message given to anyone who participates in my "Cognitive Assembly Pump Trail Race" or (CAPTR). This mental & physical challenge will equip each participant with educational info towards reducing diseases in their own community such as Diabetes through cycle therapy or exercising. Solutions or proposed strategies, to reduce obesity goes hand in hand with the reduction of pre-diabetes, healthy eating, exercise, and family time.  These four categories provide stability for me personally but you must find what works for your and your family.  What works for one person may not work for the next.   Obesity can be reduced, on a broader scale when we involve groups of people who are like minded. Exercising with a partner beats exercising by oneself. Music is another method of expanding time of fitness which can maximize healthy outcomes.
