Track Rental Safety Protocols and Re-Opening Plan
From the City of Burlington
The city has approved the proposal for BMX practices at Burlington BMX at Fairchild Park during Phase II. No spectators are permitted, and the facility must not exceed total attendance of 25. Operation under the approved proposal and in keeping with all Executive Orders may begin immediately.
Burlington BMX, a volunteer group the operates the Fairchild BMX track, submitted a thorough reopening plan. The track's plan calls for allowing up to 10 cyclists to reserve time to use the track. These cyclists are permitted to bring 1 guardian/guest and the track will be staffed by 1 Burlington BMX volunteer. No more than four riders will use the track at any time. Riders wear full gear including helmets with face shields (full-face helmets). Non-riders inside the fence are required to wear masks. Hand sanitizer will be made available and social distancing will be enforced. Bleachers would be closed and six-foot markers will be placed in the staging area. Each rider will bring and use his/her own equipment and no equipment will be provided or shared.
All BBMX event registration has been moved to online: https://club.racereach.com/burlington-bmx. For the track rentals outlined above, a single individual should complete the session registration and pay the $75 session fee. All riders must have a valid USABMX membership, and no equipment rentals or concessions will be available. Registration payment will be only accepted online.
The registrant can invite riders/patricipants from outside their family.
Weather Cancellation, Track Rental
In the event of a cancellation due to weather, a notice will be posted on Facebook, and the registrant will be emailed and refunded.
