Questions & Answers

  • Question: What is BMX Racing?

BMX Racing is the fastest-growing family sport in the country. Why? Because it's as easy as riding a bicycle, but so much more fun. North Bay BMX combines our manageable dirt course with jumps and turns, providing riders of all ages a thrill unlike any other. Freedom, fitness and frienships are just a few pedals away!

Whether you want to be the best BMXer in the world, or simply the best version of yourself, BMX Racing has a place for you.

  • Question: How do I get started in BMX Racing?

North Bay BMX offfers (3) ways to participate in our sport:

1) FREE Community Track Time – Offered on most Saturdays, riders have the opportunity to test-out our track and even use our loaner bikes & helmets at no charge (if needed). Stop by our registration buliding upon arrival to check-in and sign our waiver.

2) Napa BMX League (Beginners) – A five-week seasonal program (for boys and girls, ages 3-15) that provides new racers (must know how to ride a pedal-bike) an all-inclusive experience, complete with coaching, racing, jersey, number plate, demo bike & helmet, award and pizza party, for just $159.

Interested in joining? Look for updates on the North Bay BMX Facebook page, email [email protected] or get added to the email list for updates – https://bit.ly/bmxinformation

3) Open Racing (Novice, Intermediate, Expert) – This show-up to sign-up option to racing is open to ALL ages (even balance bikers) but is typically reserved for our League graduates, but if you want to forego the Beginner ranks and "jump" right into Novice, this is for you!

Races are held on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, and a $80 yearly USA BMX membership is required, along with a fee of $10 per event. *No coaching or extra benefits are provided at this level.

  • Does we need any special clothing/equipment?

Participants are always encouraged to wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes. Most bikes & helmets will suffice, but we have ample loaner equipment for riders to use.
