Donate To Shelby Farms BMX
~~Shelby Farms BMX is a non-profit 501 (3)(c) organization located at 6435 Walnut Grove Road Memphis, TN. Our track thrives on the help and time of our volunteers, sponsors and generous donations. In 2018, Shelby Farms BMX was awarded the #2 track in the state of TN and we are working hard to reach that #1 spot in the future! We are overachievers and we vision Shelby Farms BMX becoming “that track to visit” and at the top of every BMXers "Places to Race" List.
We are constantly working to improve the experience that current riders and new families have at our track. In addition to the changes you have seen recently and overall a better training facility for our riders.
This is where you, our parents, families, tradesmen, and local business come in. Helping can come in many forms. Volunteering at the track on practice or race nights is one inexpensive way. We also offer a volunteer give back program! If you volunteer 15 logged hours you will receive one free single points race. Riders can also log hours during our racing league and track work days. We also have sponsorship opportunities for local businesses that wish to get involved on banners, on our website and promotional events that can be held at the track.
Though the almighty dollar is nice, often times what we need is people who can get things done. Sometimes we may need an electrician or A/C repair, maybe a skid steer operator, roofer, landscaper, medical personnel for large events, IT person or a person with contacts in the media. We don’t know who you are. If there is an area you think you can help us, please let us know.
For those who don’t wish to volunteer during practice or racing, a donation (yes this is a shameless hand out-stretched) is another way you can help. We are a 501(3)(c) organization. In addition to cash contributions, we are often in need of used computer equipment, helmets, gloves, unwanted trophies, racing gear, building materials, tools, shelving, etc… depending on the project. All your donations are tax deductible.
In closing, remember every single one of us at the track is a volunteer, parent, grandparent or somehow attached to a rider close by. Take inventory of your resources. If there is a way to help us through volunteering, sponsorship or donation anything you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time,

Dear Potential Supporter of Shelby Farms BMX Track,
Shelby Farms BMX is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization operated by a team of volunteers. BMX -Bicycle Motor Cross - is a family-oriented sport for any age. Here at Shelby Farms BMX we are dedicated to providing a top-notch BMX facility every week of the year. Our goal is to continue providing growth for bicycling enthusiasts of any age. We currently have riders from age one to sixty! There is no other facility like ours within 300 miles that offers this dynamic sport along with southern hospitality, high flying riders, beautiful sunsets and a family friendly atmosphere.
Parents and volunteers have poured countless hours into building the facility since 1987. The track grounds now include a state-of-the-art Pro Start gate with a Bluetooth timing system that is used during our practices. We have three bleacher sets and have plans for extending our spectating area in the future. We also plan to add more asphalt areas around the track including our staging hill that would upgrade our current gravel staging surface. Expanding more shade to our staging and spectating areas is important to protect everyone from the Memphis summer sun! We are working to expand our facility and BMX family in the Mid-South for years to come.
The track itself is unique with a variety of obstacles that includes tabletops, a rolling rhythm section, and three asphalt turns. We are hoping to get the turns resurfaced very soon! Shelby Farms BMX is NOT “just a dirt track” anymore. The top layers are actually a mixture of red sand, Soiltac glue and water that has to be mixed then laid by hand using man power, wheel barrels, and squeegees to get that smooth racing surface! We call this “slurry”.
We try to keep our cost as affordable as possible so everyone can enjoy the sport of BMX. We offer discount packages, special $2 racing and one day free trials. In April 2019 Shelby Farms BMX launched Memphis’s first six-week beginners BMX Racing League. We are supplying free loaner bikes, helmets, and any gear needed to get riders ready for the track. We have recently purchased over twenty loaner bikes and have over thirty loaner helmets so nobody will go without the proper gear for the track.
Our future here at Shelby Farms BMX is looking bright! We are reaching out to you to ask for your support to help Shelby Farms BMX expand our track, build an even better racing and training facility, advertise and grow our new SFBMX Racing Beginners League, continue our existing programs and to offer more discounts for riders and families so everyone has the opportunity to love and enjoy BMX racing.
We are asking you to become a sponsor of Shelby Farms BMX so that kids and adults can continue with their love of BMX racing in the Mid-South. Attached are the sponsorship packages that will be valid through the 2019 -2020 racing season. We look forward to having you on our team and always in our BMX family! Remember spectating is always free! See you at the track!!
