CHANGES to 2020 BMX Race Season - PLEASE READ!!!
Welcome to the 2020 South Park BMX Season. Due to COVID-19, we have made a number of changes to how we operate in conjunction with and approved by the county and health department. To participate in BMX activities, you must now be pre-registered and pre-paid via the on-line registraton link/form prior to 5PM each evening when registration closes. You can find these links/forms under the "News" section on this site. For racing, each rider must be registered individually. No payment (cash or card) or memberships will be processed at the track. You must be registered to participate. All participants are required to observe the safety and physical distancing protocols found below and @ www.spbmx.net | Sections | Gate Practice Process, Restrictions and Registration.
Race registration is $5 for Balance Bike; $12 per class or $20 for class and cruiser and race. Awards will vary but will be identical and handed out as riders cross the finish line during the main event.
Please ensure that your rider is running the correct number plate and it matches the moto sheets when posted. Plates and numbers are also available for purchase and payment below with pick-up at the track. If you need to find your number plate for 2020, please go to https://www.usabmx.com/site/bmx_points | Select 2019 | District PA04.
Motos will be available on-line ONLY at spbmx.net prior by 5:00pm. Any and all corrections must be made by 6:00pm - no exceptions. You will see either a yellow or red bar across of the page - click on the bar to access the moto sheets.
As we are still under attendance limits, we are recommending everyone try to limit spectators to those who are required to be in attendance. Nonessential vistors and spectators should be limited. When completing the registration form, please include the number of spectators who will be attending on behalf of your rider. This information is being collected to monitor attendance limits and may be provided to the parks, county and health departments.
IMPORTANT PROTOCOLS TO NOTE AND FOLLOW:
Please limit SPECTATORS to those necessary to be in attendance for that rider. Spectators must wear masks in all common areas -- this includes the fence line, visitor stands, staging and finish line areas, and common observation deck and areas and/or within 6 feet of other riders, families, staff, or volunteers.
PARKING - Please be sure to SPREAD OUT. Allow a large gap between your vehicles. All riders and families are asked to "pit" in or near their vehicles while maintaining min. 6 ft physical distance from those parked near or around them.
CONCESSIONS will be closed temporarily. Please bring your own drinks and snacks.
NO LOANER BIKES, HELMETS, or TOOLS will be available.
STARTING HIIL / STAGING AREA - All riders will be required to use ONLY designated chutes and gates. Riders must wear full face helmet and gloves and have them on prior to approaching the staging hill or lanes. Please do not take off race gear until you have returned to your pit area. No spectators are permitted on the starting hill. The only exception are the riders that may be assisted at the starting gate (5 years old and younger). Parents of riders six to eight years of age may stand at the bottom of the starting hill near the fence as long as they are maintaining appropriate social distancing
FINISH LINE - All riders are asked to immediately exit the finish line area promptly and remove any gear once they have returned to the vehicle "pit" area.
Please understand that this activity is voluntary and you are required and accountable to observe the restrictions and guidelines set in place to protect our staff, riders and community and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you choose not to follow the rules set forth above your family may be asked to leave and may not be able to participate again until social distancing guidelines change.
This is a voluntary activity. If you do not feel comfortable or are unable to meet these guidelines, please stay home. For information, resources and operational changes related to COVID-19, visit www.alleghenycounty.us/coronavirus.
