First 10 Weeks Coaching
"FIRST 10 WEEKS"
ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
First Ten Weeks program is held on every MONDAY that Palm Beach County Schools are in SESSION- 6pm-7pm is FREE, 7pm-8pm is a paid skills class $20. Please check our Facebook page for updated information on which skills will be offered and sign up for RAINED OUT alerts (text okeebmx to 84483) in case inclement weather forces us to close the track. All riders must be USA BMX membership holders. You may purchase your membership at the track prior to the clinic if you do not have one. The membership is $60 for the year. First 10 Weeks classes format are typically FREE for the first hour then there is a PAID SKILLS portion which is $20 and can be paid as you go. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to class in order to attend the free portion.
This program will be open to all riders of the Novice and Beginner proficiency only. Please follow us on Facebook to know the clinics being taught each week. We offer bikes to rent $20 includes a helmet. All riders are welcome to attend with whatever bike they own. Please remove any foot pegs or kick stands. We require long sleeves and long pants and close toed shoes.

Mike Casas-Head Coach
Mike Casas raced BMX for more than 20 years
Competed in 10 World Championships, including wins in National and International Races. Coach Casas created Bmxschoolofchampions 4 years ago to help athletes achieve their dreams, showing them that hard work pays off. "Dedication, discipline, and commitment will bring success."
Coach Casas looks forward to developing the First 10 Weeks program, expanding our beginner racer offerings and further developing competitive national level athletes. Please stay tuned as our training calendar offering develops!
What is a USA BMX Certified Coach:
It is our goal that parents are comfortable with and confident in our coaches character and ability to coach their children and look out for their well-being. All USA BMX Coaching Candidates must pass three levels of prerequisites before they are allowed to even start the program.
For the safety of our children, all Coaching Candidates must:
- Recieve a Character Reference from a Track Operator, known as the Track Operator Letter of Recomendation
- Be certified in Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult and Pediatric First Aid and CPR
- Pass a Background Check
- Take the USA BMX Certification Coarse that covers all aspects of BMX training from Apples (Nutrition) to Z (Finish Line)
- Achieve an 80% or better score on the licensing exam.
Our pledge to you is there will be a USA BMX Certified Coach running every clinic taught at Okeeheelee BMX.
