We are happy to be able to open. We are an ALL volunteer organization and do this for YOU!  Please help us stay open by following the guidelines below. 


If you are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, including but not limited to cough, fever, difficulty breathing, and/or chills, please stay home. If you have traveled in the last 14 days to a state in which NYS has mandated quarantine please stay home. 

At this time we can only allow riders from the following NY State Counties Albany, Columbia, Greene, Saratoga, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Warren, Washington, Essex, Hamilton, Fulton, Mongomery, Schoharie, Delaware, Ulster and Dutchess.


General Precautionary Safety Measures:

  • If you, your racer, or any of your household members are feeling ill please do not attend. 

  • Please limit spectators to your immediate family (those in your household)

  • We are asking families to stay together at their vehicle in the parking lot, and not congregate in large groups. This will be your designated pit area.

  • The bleachers will be closed at this time. 

  • No parking will be allowed on the hill in the grass area. 

  • Concessions will be closed at this time. Please bring your own food and drinks. 

  • Food Trucks may be on site. We will try to inform everyone of this in advance. We ask that you be mindful of the amount of people in the vendor area at a time. Please adhere to any guidelines vendors may have posted in regards to their social distancing guidelines.

  • Disinfecting Procedures - Cleaning and sanitation measures throughout the venue will be implemented to promote a clean and healthy environment. 

  • Ample hand sanitizer will be available for all attendees but we encourage you to bring your own for use in your pit area. 

  • Staff will continuously monitor and disinfect the restrooms/porta-johns several times weekly.

  • No loaner bikes or helmets will be available. 

  • All facility buildings are off limits to everyone except Tri-City BMX Board members and/or event volunteers.

  • All riders are asked to bring their own bike pump, spare parts, and tools/wrenches.

  • All riders must wear a full-face helmet and gloves and have them on prior to approaching the staging hill, chutes, or lanes. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Riders will not be permitted to sit on the track or in turns and must keep moving.

  • No spectators are permitted on the starting hill or the staging area unless you have a face covering on and your rider is under the age of 6 yrs old. 

  • Adhere to social distancing of at least six (6) feet whenever possible.

  • Frequently wash hands with hand sanitizer.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.

  • Disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible; bring and carry hand sanitizer in your gear bag and use it often.

  • It is mandatory to utilize face coverings when not in your pit area in the parking lot and you do not have on a helmet.


Registration Process: 

  • All registration and payment must be contactless. SIGN UP HERE :

    • All payment must be made online, no payment will be collected at the track

    • Visit or Tri-City BMX Track on facebook to register prior to 6pm the day BEFORE practice or racing.

  • You must have a current USA BMX membership. If your membership has expired, please renew it online prior to registering. 

    • Please be ready to show proof of current membership if you renewed in the last week or it isn’t showing in the USABMX membership system yet. 

    • No renewals or new memberships will be processed at the track; this can now be done via USABMX's new registration portal at

  • Only riders registered to race will be able to practice on race nights 

  • Refunds will only be given for weather cancelation 

  • NEW RIDER ONE DAY MEMBERSHIP will be the only membership processed at the track on the day of the event. 

    • Please come to registration between 6:30pm-7pm


Racing Process: 

  • Moto Sheets 

    • Moto Sheets will NOT be posted on-site, rather published online at and possibly the Track Facebook page. 

      • All subsequent postings (repost, quarters, semis, mains) and results will be online as well. 

      • Please review and report any mistakes before 6pm the day of the race. 

  • Staging 

    • All riders must wear a full-face helmet and gloves and have them on prior to approaching the staging hill, chutes, or lanes. NO EXCEPTIONS!

    •  Helmets must be worn at all times 

    • You will be required to stand with your bike on the green mark while you wait  

    • Please listen for your moto number to be called to the staging hill. 

    • No spectators are permitted on the starting hill or the staging area unless you have a face covering on and your rider is under the age of 6 yrs old. 

    • Riders will be required to stage for practice through chutes 3,5 7 and 9 ONLY in order to maintain distancing.

    • Racing staging will occur in the grass area behind the chutes 

    • We ask that riders only come to staging when their race is close to being called. 

    • Staging may run slower than usual, so please be patient.

  • Finish Line 

    • At the conclusion of each moto, riders must immediately leave the finish line area to return to their pits. Helmets should be worn all the way back to the pit areas, and there will be no congregating at the finish line allowed.

    • We ask that when riders congratulate other riders, they do so by simply saying “Good Race” instead of hugs & high-fives. Parents will not be allowed in the finish line area for any reason.

    • At the conclusion of the main event, awards will be given before riders exit the track area. We ask that once your racer has collected their award that you exit the facility as expeditiously as possible.

  • Protest

    • To minimize congestion at the finish line and to ensure distancing, there will be no protest regarding action on the track. 

    • Tri-City BMX officials are well trained and taught to call fouls as they happen. These officials will decide immediately if an incident is deemed a foul or a no call. 

    • Once the official has made this determination and the head official has confirmed and documented a foul or no call, that decision is final.


This list is meant to serve as a guideline and will be our best practices. We reserve the right to make changes if necessary, to ensure for the safety and well-being of our riders and spectators. Further updates to these guidelines will be posted, as necessary. 


***THIS PART IS IMPORTANT***If you are uncomfortable with any of these procedures or being around people, please stay home. Let’s get back to racing as safely as possible and most of all let’s have fun.
