New Rider Resources
We love introducing new riders to the sport of BMX. Our friendly track staff is ready to guide you through the race day process and answer any questions you have. All you need to get started is a long sleeved shirt, pants, and closed toe-shoes. Bring your bike and helmet, or try one of ours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to ride on the track. (Waivers required at check-in.)
USA BMX Membership
NOVA BMX is governed by USA BMX which requires that all riders have a current USA BMX membership to be on the track.
- 1-day Trial Membership - We offer a FREE 1-day Trial Membership that can be used for any practice or race. This is a chance to try the sport for free with no obligation.
- USA BMX Membership - USA BMX Memberships can be purchased on-site during registration on any practice or race day. If you prefer to sign up online, see the USA BMX New Membership web page to create a new account. Make sure to select Northern Virginia (NOVA) BMX as your home track when completing the online membership form! Your USA BMX Membership is valid at any of the over 300 sanctioned tracks in the United States and Canada.

Loaner Bikes & Equipment
We offer loaner bikes and loaner helmets of various sizes to help get you started. Our loaner equipment is free of charge, but donations are greatly appreciated.
Loaner equipment is first come, first served so get out early to make sure you get the gear that you need. Our volunteers will help with choosing the right size loaner bike and helmet for your first time out on the track.
