Temporary closures until the end of July 2020
NOVA BMX is currently temporarily closed until the end of July 2020.
On Friday, June 12, Northern Virginia entered Phase 2 of "Forward Virginia." That means that we technically permitted to schedule gate practice, so long as we kept the crowd size to less than 50. However, given that the track was closed for 3 months, the planned track construction for the 2020 season is now underway (drainage, track design changes, paving and electrical work). If we tried to slide in any rider activity around the construction, the work will not be able to be completed as expeditiously as possible. This has unfortunately caused us to take a continued pause on the reopening of our 2020 season.
It will be worth it, but the delay is unwelcome when we were all itching to get back on that track. Please be patient, as we will post details by the end of July regarding signup procedures and safety measures for our grand reopening. With social distancing and some limits on crowd size in place, it will feel a little different than before, but will still be amazing to get Back on Track. We will be back soon!
We will continue to update this post as soon as we have further news.
In the meantime, stay healthy, and keep riding your bike! If you don't own a bike, several bike shops offer delivery (mail or social-distance-approved drop off). Consider one of our friends at Powers Bike Shop, On 2 Wheels, A1 Cycling, NOVA Cycleworks, Velofix, and Bull Run Bicycles!
Take care everyone!
