Wow, what a weekend. The Redline Cup qualifier and Virginia State Championship qualifier this past weekend at Richmond BMX was as big as any event the track has held in recent memory. Perfect weather, a finely tuned track and hundreds of riders made for two sensational days of racing we wont soon forget.

With a total of 360 riders and 73 motos on Saturday and 240 riders in 53 motos Sunday and probably 1000 gate drops over the three event, the entire weekend was a smashing success. Before we can bask in the glory that was the weekend we first must thank all the people who made it possible. From everyone who was part of the rebuild efforts, to everyone who contributed to the efforts of the weekend and our amazing volunteers, several coming from other tracks no less, our success is 100% dependent on these volunteers and for that we are eternally grateful.

We also want to thank everyone who came to race for no matter how well planned and organized a racing event may be, without the riders it is all for not. Not only did we have an amazing turnout, but it was seemingly without incident. So much so, that we even had a hard time finding things to do to return the park to its previous state. Thank you!

Lastly, want to take a moment to send some healing vibes to one rider, Phillip Downell who crashed in the last moto on Sunday. Phillip has sustained several injuries, all recoverable, but no less serious. Please keep Phillip in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Once again, many thanks to everyone who makes this sport and events like this possible and we hope to see you all again very soon at Richmond BMX.
