Objective of each class:
Fundamental Skills - Sprints, balance, figure 8 drills, foot down, track stands, front wheel lift, bunny hops, warm up drills.
Gate Starts - Getting rider comfortable in the gate, balancing, standing with proper form, timing, 30' foot rule, understanding staging.
Pumping - Teaching rider to use their body and track to maintain speed without pedaling.
Turns - Taking correct lines in racing, maintaining speed in a corner, when and where to pedal.
Pack Skills - Having riders understand space awareness, how to protect your line safely, understanding rubbing is racing, and how to pass riders safely.
Manualing - Using the fundamental of the front wheel lift on a jump to increase speed on an obstacle, staying in control of the bike.
Jumping - Getting comfortable with air awareness, using bunny hop drill on a jump to clear the obstacle, how to be in control if jump makes you leave ground.
Training on and off the track - What riders can be doing to better their performance both on and off the track, taking your riding to the next step.
What is the First 10 Weeks Program?
The First 10 Weeks program is designed to take a new rider from the sidewalk to the podium. A USA BMX Licensed Coach will guide each rider through 10 individual lessons that will increase confidence, skills, speed and safety on the track. While in the First 10 Weeks Program, a coach will be able to give you feedback on your races and practices and help to tailor your experience to your needs.
When can I start?
You are able to start the First 10 Weeks Program at any time. The first clinic(s) in the series are known as Intro to BMX and get you ready to practice on your own and prepare you to start at any point in the cycle of the First 10 Week Program
How can I sign up?
Head up to the registration window and ask for information regarding your local coach and programs. We offer the ability to purchase a package which includes a membership, coaching and racing session all in one, just like you would for any other sport.
