The 20th annual March for Parks fundraiser is coming up on Saturday, March 26, 2022! Our new approach was such a success last year that we want to carry forward with a more widespread opportunity to support all 10 of our parks and 5 trails.

On March 26, marchers can check-in between 9:00am and noon with their donations, pick up their t-shirts, and participate in fun activities and games for the whole family. The new, relaxed format will encourage visitors to march/walk/explore their favorite park or trail location at their convenience.

What is the March for Parks?
The March for Parks is a fun event to raise money for new park & trail projects in Westmoreland County. Marchers collect contributions individually or as a team of three or more (dogs are welcome to participate, too!).

What projects are we fundraising for?
Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation is planning lots of new projects in our community, such as:
  • Westmoreland Heritage Trail – completing the “middle gap” from Export to Delmont, land acquisition, planning, construction, and maintenance along the trail
  • Northmoreland Park Master Plan projects - destination playground, kayak launch and improvements to lake walkways
  • Five Star Trail expansion project
  • All Parks – improvements to playgrounds, renovating restrooms to become flushable, resurfacing parking lots and roadways
Are there sponsorship opportunities?
Yes!  For businesses seeking a high value promotional opportunity, sponsorship of the March is a way to build substantial goodwill at low cost.  Sponsorship is also suitable for an individual or family wishing to make a larger contribution. Click here to download the 2022 MFP sponsorship package.

The Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and donations to it are tax deductible (ID #25-1895187). There are no goods or services provided in return for a contribution.
