In addition to the Maple Leaf Nationals being a 3-day National, BMX Canada would like to introduce the “O Cup“ for 2014. The “O Cup” will combine the three best scores earned at BMX Nationals in Ontario and will be an award presented in each of the age classes at the conclusion of the race on Sunday, September 21. All riders competing in Ontario are eligible and points will be calculated using your three best scores from a combination of the Limestone Nationals and the Maple Leaf Nationals. A rider can attend just the Maple Leaf Nationals and obtain three scores; however, if a rider competes in Kingston next weekend, those scores can also be utilized.
“We are excited to create an opportunity for Ontario riders to earn five scores prior to the Grands”, said Brad Hallin of BMX Canada. “The added bonus of the “O Cup” will give riders another goal to strive for in 2014.”
The Limestone Nationals will be held the weekend of May 30 – June 1, in Kingston, Ontario. Pre-registration is available on the national events page online at bmxcanada.org.
The Maple Leaf Nationals will be held September 21-23, in Milton, Ontario.
