A Springfield Soiree

Spokes BMX could be considered a throwback BMX track by today’s standards but as Hall of Famer Billy Griggs told us, “this place makes you think!” The racecourse, which is located inside the James Ewing Sports Complex, is dirt with a splash of glue and awkward in parts. One of its best features in our opinion is the long, rhythm filled last straight. A lot of races were won and lost down the fourth straight.

Lets take a look at a few standouts from the weekend.

12 Expert Drew Engler

After a third place finish in Friday’s pre race this Blue Springs BMX local went on to double in 11-12 Open and in class. Be on the lookout for this hot midwest up and comer.

41 & Over Women - Sandy Cameron

This Aussie sensation stuck around after the 2017 World Championships and never lost a lap all weekend long on either of her bikes. We hear that she loved visiting Andy's frozen custard shop while in town.

41-45 Expert Grady Stimits

Dr. Dirty Panda was on a MISSION in Springfield. He definitely looks to be on a serious training program and it paid off with 4 huge wins.
