USA BMX and City of Goose Creek Advance Plans for New BMX Racing Facility

Action Sports Design contract marks next step in the development of Goose Creek BMX, aiming to expand access to BMX racing and support regional competition

TULSA, Okla. (Sep. 24, 2026)—USA BMX and the City of Goose Creek are moving forward with plans for a new USA BMX-sanctioned racing facility that will expand recreational and competitive cycling opportunities in the Southeastern region.

The Goose Creek City Council approved a contract on Tuesday, Sep. 8 with Action Sports Design, a USA BMX-approved firm specializing in the planning and development of BMX facilities. The project, targeted for completion by October 2027, brings together the City of Goose Creek and USA BMX to establish a new BMX racing facility at Foster Creek Park, a City managed recreation facility, at 206 Foster Creek Road. Beyond serving the local community, the partnership aims to demonstrate a model for integrating BMX racing into school properties and help open the door for similar opportunities in communities across the country.

The project represents another step toward bringing a dedicated BMX racing venue to Goose Creek, with the potential to serve local riders while creating a new destination for competitive events in the region.

“This project is an exciting opportunity to add another high-quality recreational amenity to Goose Creek while creating a space that can serve riders of all ages and experience levels,” said Greg Habib, Mayor of Goose Creek. “As the project develops into the design process, we look forward to exploring how a dedicated BMX facility can benefit our residents, support youth athletics and bring new opportunities for competition and visitors to our community.”

The proposed facility carries an estimated overall construction budget of approximately $1.2 million.

As part of the project, USA BMX will provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the planning, construction and operation of the facility. The partnership is intended to ensure the track is developed to national BMX racing standards and can ultimately be eligible to host USA BMX-sanctioned competition.

“A facility like this can become a place where a rider’s first lap turns into a passion for the sport and, eventually, a competitive pursuit,” said Justin Travis, director of business development for USA BMX. “For Goose Creek, it also creates an opportunity to put BMX racing on the map locally and give riders a home base as they grow within the sport. We’re excited to move from vision into the planning and design process.”

USA BMX-sanctioned tracks support riders across a range of ages and experience levels, from those getting on a BMX bike for the first time to athletes pursuing competitive racing. For USA BMX, the Goose Creek project also reflects the continued growth of BMX facilities across the country and the organization’s work with communities seeking to expand access to the sport.

With the design contract now approved, the City of Goose Creek and USA BMX will continue working through the planning process as the project advances toward construction.
