Hampton BMX Hosts USABMX Gold Cup Qualifier &

9^th annual Eddie Townsend Memorial Pro Am

August 7-9

Hampton, Virginia- August 7-9, up to 350 BMX bikers and more than 900 spectators from across the country will head to Hampton, Virginia for the USABMX Gold Cup Qualifier & 9^th annual Eddie Townsend Memorial Pro Am, taking place at Hampton BMX (formerly Hampton Supertrack). Competitors from up and down the east coast are expected to participate in this action-packed event. The event is free and open to the public, however BMX bikers hoping to register for the competition can do so on-site. Those not licensed can purchase a one-day membership but are not eligible to receive points.

Both professional and amateur cyclists will participate in this year’s event, with amateur bikers earning points and professional bikers earning a cash payout. This year’s total purse is $2500 plus 100% registration payback. Olympic professional Arielle Martin is scheduled to attend and compete.

Hampton BMX, formerly Hampton Supertrack, has been a fixture of Gosnold’s Hope Park for over 30 years. The track hosts about 30 BMX races annually, March through November, and is run mostly by committed volunteers.
