With the 2021 season quickly approaching we are ready to open the team roster for new and returning riders.

First off, existing team riders, please email [email protected] with rider name, jersey size. More details will be provided in email replies.

New riders, ok yeah lots of questions.....

Is being on a team required in BMX?

No at all. Competiting in BMX Racing has no requirement on riders being on a team. Only special race events that offer "Team Competitions", which are based on individual riders performances, involve teams.

Who can join?

This is open to all current USABMX riders only, and consists of mostly newer riders and families who just like a fun time at the BMX track. While we are happy to bring just about anyone on to the team, its best for all new riders to be actively participating in BMX racing, meaning at least a couple of races under their belt. We will surely make considerations given the lack of race events at Richmond BMX the past 12 months, so if your in doubt if this is for you or your young BMX'er, just email us at [email protected].

What does the team do?

Teams in BMX are generally a support structure and never play into the competition on the track. National Factory teams provide lots of benefits to riders, a local team like Richmond Bicycle Motocross Team is pretty much a jersey and friendships. At bigger race events we will establish a shared pit space (safe distancing applied) for riders and family. But that is pretty much the extent. But, it is a rather sweet jersey.

What about the jersey, how does that work?

We have a great local designer who helps us with the jersey layout and getting the order to the producer. The track covers 1/2 the cost of the jersey meaning its just $20.

How do I or my little shredder join the team?

Email us at [email protected], we will ask a couple of questions and get the ball rolling
