About

Hall of Fame

Each year, USA BMX inducts two legendary BMX racers, one legendary Freestyle rider, along with one influential Industry person, as well as one influential BMX woman into the National BMX Hall of Fame. Nominations are accepted from the public, the final list of nominees is determined by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, and the BMX Hall of Fame inductees, industry, media and a select few history experts cast their votes on the ballot to determine each year`s class.

The official home of the National BMX Hall of Fame is located at USA BMX Headquarters in Tulsa, OK.
The National BMX Hall of Fame is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

NOMINATING PROCESS: Each year, the National BMX Hall of Fame Committee requests nominations from the public and BMX community. Anybody can nominate someone for the BMX Hall of Fame.

Nomination forms are accepted from October to January, and all entrants are considered. The Hall of Fame committee will narrow down the nominees to the Top-5, who are then voted on by over 500 voters - made up of current Hall of Famers, BMX media and Industry, and Vintage BMX experts and historians.

Click here to fill out the nomination form.

CRITERIA:
When considering all Hall of Fame Nominations - the selection committee looks for Inductees who have made a serious impact on the sport of BMX; whether it be through performance and accomplishments, or outside of competition.

Nominees in the Freestyle, Pioneer, Woman, and Racer categories are required to be inactive from professional competition for at least five (5) years or be over the age of 40. Nominees in the Industry category may still be active in the BMX industry.

All nominees should have made a direct impact to the sport of BMX in some of the following ways:
  • Helped change the direction of the sport of BMX and left their mark in a positive manner.
  • Influential and recognized figure in the sport of BMX.
  • Took the sport of BMX to a higher level of achievement or competition.
  • Earned achievements such as National or World titles and championships, popularity awards, media attention, brand advertising and endorsement of BMX products, team sponsorship, and other competitive contributions.
On a personal level, the individual should display attributes such as leadership, sportsmanship, character, and integrity.

2018

  • Clarence "Earthquake" Perry | 2018, Pioneer

As Northwest legend has it, a small rumble would begin when he rolled into the starting grid. With the drop of that gate, the earth would shake as he powered down the first straight like a speeding, out of control freight train. That, folks, is the legend of Clarence “The Earthquake” Perry!

  • Brian Foster | 2018, Racer

    98-lone_star_dirt_jump067_mxw150_mxha_e0

At a skinny six-foot-one, and weighing 165 pounds, Brian Foster broke the mold of what a typical Double-A Pro racer was at that time. What he may have lacked in strength and size, he made up for with his unmatched set of skills and an unequal amount of desire to have fun on his bike.

  • Rick Moliterno | 2018, Freestyle, Industry

    Moliterno-004_mxw150_mxha_e0

Like so many multi-talented BMX heroes, smilin’ Rick Moliterno could’ve easily been nominated in three other Hall of Fame categories. He’s been a racer, he’s been a freestyle pioneer, and he’s still an Iconic figure in the bicycle industry today.

  • Debbi Kalsow | 2018, Woman

    Debbikalsow-mugshot_mxw150_mxha_e0

When the Kalsow family left Lansing, Michigan to the BMX mecca of Phoenix, Arizona, their kids - Digger and Debbi, were already furiously fast. Debbi had already won nationals in the ABA and NBA, and earned an NBL No.1 plate for 11 year old Girls.

  • Bob Morales | 2018, Freestyle, Industry

    Bobmorales-industry_mxw150_mxha_e0

Bob Morales has been a part of multiple disciplines in the sport of BMX. Racer, cruiser pioneer, entrepreneur, freestyler, event promoter, sanctioning body owner, designer and BMX businessman. It’s safe to say that when it comes to BMX, Bob has done it all.

  • Tim "Fuzzy" Hall | 2018, Freestyle

    30_hall-o_-famers_mxw150_mxha_e0

Who would’ve ever known that a no-footed can-can in 1987 would lead to nearly a lifetime of pushing the envelope and taking the sport to the next level. Nearly overnight, Fuzzy became a dirt-jumping superstar - joining the test riding crew at BMXA, then becoming the first factory-sponsored dirt jumper with Robinson Racing, before landing a spot with longtime sponsor Mongoose.
