What a great night out racing at Daytona BMX. The track was in great shape and the staff ran the race smoothly. 51-55 cruiser made with 6 riders. I ended up finishing 4th overall in the main but the night was way more successful for me than my overall finish. The race was a good matchup against many of the riders that I see at the Florida state level and last time I rode against them, they pretty much got me on every part of the track.
All of my practicing at my home track (First Coast) is starting to pay off. My gate were pretty good with me pushing the gate down several times. Track management was pretty good, was able to make sure I was where I should be. Areas that I need to continue working on are my first straights, I stopped peddling a few time leading into the first jump and total lost any holeshot/start advantage I may have had. After that it was catch up.
