(Sorry, with all the furor over that phrase lately, I couldn't help myself from using it!)

James won both days in Tampa.  He wrecked in the first moto on Saturday (not his fault), sat around for an hour stewing about it (check the photo of "Angry James"), & nobody touched him the rest of the weekend.  Everything happens for a reason.  I'm just glad he's OK.

So, umpteen times over the weekend, Chad (the announcer) reminds us parents not to run on the track when your child wrecks.  They have paramedics, volunteers, etc to do this.  We all nod our heads in agreement and promise not to do it...and then our kid goes down and we're over the fence and sprinting down the straightaway.  Heck, I did it.  James's wreck was sort of gruesome and he didn't pop right up immediately.  Roby (Hap's coach/dad) was over the fence & I was sprinting from the finish line.  James got up & finished the race.  My hero.  Tough little man.  (Special thanks to Roby for looking out for my son like his own.  Over the fence, etc.  We both saw it and immediately knew it was ugly -- full speed during a sprint.)

I heard 'Your kid is a ROCKET!' 4 times this weekend.  Made my chest swell.  Also got new/unknown parents sliding up to me to say 'Hi, how are you, etc...and where are you from and how long has your kid been doing this and how old is he and how many move ups does he have and...?' because he was obviously smoking everyone.  There were 18 kids in the class, all of the top players in the SSA chase were there, & James did his thing.  Definitely staked his claim to the #1 spot.  Going into the finals on top of the points.  Good luck, kiddo.

Still planning on SRQ Friday & St. Cloud Sunday.
