I started racing in 1976 on a new Suzuki GVX-1 Bmx bicycle, I had written a letter to Suzuki America from the ad in the magazine I was reading at the time. They wrote a letter back with two Indiana dealers, one in Indianapolis and one in Wakarusa Indiana, a small farming town.

I wasn't an instant blazing winner, 5th was my first time out of 10 kids i think. But the following year I was getting better and won my first race and i never looked back.

I raced full time until 1982 season, then I tried to not take it too serious because points and pressure to win was getting old fast.  I just wanted to ride and at the track with friends but the fun was hard to keep when winning is the only goal.

I raced in 1999 season and then quit because of my then wife, and after our divorce in 2005 i went back to racing.  By 2006 I was state number one in the intermediate class, the 2007 I lost my job and insurance and didn't think I should continue racing.

I bought a new bike in 2019 and was yapping about racing again, but rode it 5-6 times on the street and that was it.  2020 with Covid and I heard racing was on so I went! I won't stop God willing!!

I Love the evolution of the pump style part of the tracks for a full body workout!  Meeting new people has been the best part, the kids and watching families from a far is so fun!

I love this sport!
