I wanted to give a quick recap of my time racing the last few months of 2020.

I've learned so many lessons even with as few as five races under my belt, that next year I'll hopefully be a little wiser.

Make sure your bike is working PERFECTLY! Anything that is out of alignment, or not tightened, is amplified during a race - I had two mechanical failures in two separate races!

Invest in a protective chest guard at the very least - I missed two races because of a fractured rib i received from a fall at the first turn in a Moto.

Practice with purpose! Have a plan to utilize your time on and away from the track - Gates/Pumping/Turns/Sprinting etc...

Be a good sport! - I feel that at the end of the day, if I didn't die, it was a good day. I could have been at home in front of the TV, doing nothing, but I chose to get out and burn some calories with a great bunch of people!

Listen to advice given to you. The people who watch you ride, whether they be fellow racers, or spectators, have the luxury of being able to see things that you maybe cannot. So if someone gives you advice, take it constructively, their advice may have the effect of you placing better in a race.

I can only speak from my experiences, but for such a competitive sport, the sense of people trying to help one another, is refreshing.
