My 47th Birthday Weekend / USA BMX Dixieland Nationals
My birthday weekend started on Thursday, 16 July 2020. I drove to Macon, Georgia to see my friend and family member Rodney Fox. I also drove to Atlanta, Georgia and saw my friend and family member and Actor, Dennis LA White. Dennis LA White is an current actor who had a movie premiere on BET Saturday that I was very proud to watch. Finally, I commuted to McDonough, GA where I stayed with friend and family member, Dr. Anthony Wade, Friday's National I race my 24" Cruiser and simply got smoked by the national competion in my 46-50 Cruiser motos. Saturday was a different day and I had the opportunity to race Class 46-50 Expert. I proceeded place top two in the second qualifyiing moto, beating BMX competitor Brad Kicholoe, which gave me a main event appearance for that day. I finished 7th place in that race on Saturday and I felt very strong considering I haven't race a national since the World's Qualifier back in 2017, This past weekend was the best birthday I've had in a long time! Thank you to @boxbmx, @factoryeffex, @odi, @spy, @hookit @meybousa, my wife Rita Washington, my children Erica Lynn Washington and Brittany C. Washington for being supportive. This weekend I also got to meet Mr. Greg Esser,(former NBL Pro) and Tommy Brakens (former double A Pro for GT Bicycles). These are two legends of the sport I love so much and they still motivate me today. Before I left NC to race the Dixie Land Nationals, I wanted to at least make one of my main events to show and prove to myself that my T.R.E. therapy rides are working for me.
